Scythe’s Big Shuriken 3 (Rev. B) is 67mm in height with comparable performance to the Noctua NH-L12 Ghost Edition. The Scythe Big Shuriken 3 features an offset cooler design, so the cooler covers I/O shroud; instead of the RAM. This means the Scythe Big Shuriken 3 has zero RAM compatibility issues.

CONCLUSION
This unconventional cooler offset, presents potential issues with motherboard compatibility and case suitability. Some motherboard I/O shrouds may be incompatible with the Scythe Big Shuriken 3. Case suitability will need to be considered as not all ITX cases have vent holes that cover the full side panel so airflow to the CPU cooler may be reduced in cases that don’t feature edge to edge panel ventilation.
